Here is how you market your film festival. I learned this approach from the Bloodstained Indie Film Festival.
- “Yes there is a
- Bloodstained
- Indie Film Festival.”
- “Your film “The Stairs” caught our attention so we are inviting you to our film festival.”
- “Your film looks like an excellent fit for our lineup.”
- “Cheers. (I love how the former colonies sign off on their letters and I am going to start using it.)
- “Congratulations for all your achievements! “(Real agape here and good use of the exclamation point.)
- Now lay it on thick.
- “When you make an indie film, you put your blood, sweat, and tears into it. Not to mention, your bank account. No one understands this better than us. We’re independent filmmakers just like you, and we’re here to honor your passion, commitment, and vision. So many people give up on their dreams, never daring to try to make them come true. You’re one of the brave few to take a huge step and actually do that. No film is perfect but you had the guts to reach for the stars and we want to applaud your success. Production date, world premiere status, etc. None of that junk matters to us. We just want to see your pride and joy.We won’t give you an award you don’t deserve, but we’re going to make sure no one walks away empty-handed even if it’s just an official selection or nomination.”
- I LOVE IT! So many pats on the back that I feel like I just had a massage.
