Parents are known to advise their kids to hang with the right crowd and to choose your friends wisely.

Well “The Stairs” has taken these adages to heart. One of the films at the Flagler International Film Festival—(FIFF), “Borrowed Time” screened last Sunday, is a  ten-minute animated film has been nominated for the best short film Oscar. Congrats to its directors Lou Hamou-Lhadj and Andrew Coats.

And well-deserved congratulations to FIFF directors,  James and Kathryn Barry, for having selected “Borrowed Time” for screening at their festival.

“The Stairs”, a ten-minute film, won best director (Hakim Reagan) in the drama category at FIFF.

“Borrowed Time” won the Audience Choice Award—Animation and Best Animation Award at FIFF.

Now guess which film I’m rooting for in the 89th Academy Awards?

“La La Land” of course and now “Borrowed Time.”
