Wonderful news for the son of Dr. Wolf and Henia Laitner. Former Woodridge resident Morton (or as some remember him, Bobby) Laitner, had the pleasure of seeing over 100 movie fans attend the world premiere of The Stairs at the Paradiso Cinema in downtown Fort Lauderdale on June 25, 2016. Guests, many from Fallsburg High School Class of ’67, walked the velvet roped red carpet and took many photos of the Hollywood Experience. The movie is a short film based on a chapter from Mort’s book A Hebraic Obsession, that was published about two years ago. It has already been accepted into nine film festivals and has won two top film awards. Blake Laitner, Braunbaer Studios Executive Producer, said, “This is a short independent film about my grandfather, Dr. Wolf Laitner and my father Mort “Bobby” Laitner.” Blake is proud that the film has received world-wide acclaim in Canada, Slovakia, the USA, South Africa and Israel. Based on the loud applause the audience loved the film.
