I have read “A Hebraic Obsession” and will read it again, and probably again! I read in awe as I knew I would. You see, your father was my Doctor when I was a child, a man that I eagerly waited for him when I was ill. And without a lot of pomp or circumstance I was always cured.
I remember Dr. Laitner in his crisp suit and tie and his smiling face and pleasant manner, always a gentleman. And, I will also remember those evil numbers tattooed on his forearm, a constant reminder publicizing the crime of being born Jewish!
Even after all these years, I too, miss Dr. Laitner.
He was indeed, a man among men!
