D. RRFC Connection, May 9, 2016, Weekly Newsletter ” Film Connection graduates Blake Laitner and Hakym Reagan (Portland OR) just finished their second short entitled, The Stairs based on a chapter in his father’s book A Hebraic Obsession: They show YouTube of trailer on the site.
1. Film Storage selects “The Stairs” trailer to feature on their website.—-April 10, 2016.
2. Laitner, an attorney-turned-filmmaker, completed writing his memoir, “An Hebraic Obsession” in 2015 and the movie was completed in 2016. Since then, the film’s trailer has been selected to be featured by Film Shortage and Festival Europeen du Film Fantastique de Strasbourg has added French subtitles to the movie.
3. “The Stairs” worldwide premiere at Fort Lauderdale’s Paradiso Theatre on June 25, 2016 at 5:30 pm.
4. We were negotiating distribution rights with Orient Star Media Inc. (B.C., Canada) for the People’s Republic of China. Update: Their contract was so one-sided that we tore it up.
5. Five Film Festivals are now following us on Twitter: Melbourne Indie Film Festival, SouthPole International Film Festival and the Bucharest Shortcut Cinefest Paradise Justice—they Twittered “Mahalo Mort for following us.”
Lots of film festivals are retweeting our submissions into other film festivals. It is nice to see their logos next to the likes.
