The Ups and Downs of Life

Life is good when:

1,  A former Barry University Bio-Med student emails you that she found AHO “more than intriguing” and she wants to discuss the book with you. A half-hour telephonic discussion later, I  have talked about life-lessons, the value of letting go of obsessions, Martin Buber, universality in writing and much more. Being an author is fab!

2. You go to your accountant and you see on your tax return that your primary profession is “writer.” Uncle Sam will be impressed.

3. An author friend visits you at your home to talk shop and learn about blogging; she bring you a bottle of ice wine (a great sweet) dessert wine made from grapes left on the vine to freeze and then be pressed into service) from her private stock and with her personal label on it. Thanks Mario and Gina for the liquid treasure. I toast to your health and to more book sales.

4. You find an illustrator for the Hanukkah Bunny book. Congrats to Jose Daniel Oviedo Galeano.

Life is sad when:

One of the actors, Drew Thacher, (photo above) in the movie “The Stairs” passed away this week. (1974-2016) My condolences to his family and friends. May he be on that stairway to heaven. Drew, thanks for the memories. Rest in peace,
