A Proud Day

cbkOn Thursday, Mort visited the Holocaust Museum of Southwest Florida, located on Tamiami Trail in Naples, Florida. We heard an excellent lecture from a docent. Their exhibits of Stars of David, which Jews were required to wear before and during the war and Nazi required armbands was informative. Touching a replica of the bunks at Auschwitz chilled my body. I was saddened to see that the Jewish-transport-to-the-camps-railcar had been moved to the Naples Airport, I found “A Hebraic Obsession” on their bookshelves and it made me feel proud. I offered the staff, Stan, to do a lecture on the book. I will keep you informed when it happens.

I am now a member of HMECSF. It’s mission is to “promote respect and understanding by teaching the history and lessons of the Holocaust.”
